Georgia To Consider Unlicensed Concealed Carry

Georgia Republican state representative Matt Gurtler has pre-filed legislation that would allow for permitless concealed carry (often inaccurately called “Constitutional Carry”). This is a good idea that has worked in many other states for many years with nary a problem. This so because law-abiding citizens follow the law while criminals are not deterred by laws. It is a moral imperative that governs the gun-carrier’s behavior, not some words in a law book. That sounds simple and cliche, but Attorney Ari Freilich with the Giffords Law Center to prevent gun violence still doesn’t get it. Governor-Elect Brian Kemp is likely to support the bill.

The 2019-2020 legislative session begins January 14th.
